Quilts For Kids

I finally finished the two Downy Quilts For Kids....

The Robot fabric is the kit they mailed to me. The butterfly's is the one I did in addition. Gotta get them laundered and into the mail...so glad I helped, but glad it's done too.

HOW'S MY DAY YOU ASK?

Well if I had had a camera on my phone I would have taken a picture of James' latest fiasco. I have to say right here, its a good thing I'm older and more patient. Here is what happened: I was making the last prep on supper and I asked the two boys to unload the dishwasher. I also had the candle warmer on because earlier today james had totally messed up the surface. Being a bit OCD, I had to "fix" it. Next thing I hear is Michael yelling at James. So I turned around and all over the place was this blue/purple wax. James didn't know the warmer was on because the surface was still solid, however, underneath was melted. It was only lacking about 1/4" of being totally melted through. James had picked up the candle and was going to toss it at Michael. In the process the solid popped out and the melted went literally everywhere within a seven foot radius. Their clothes were waxed, their arms and bare feet, the floor, countertop, chairs. The wax wasn't warm enough to give them blisters but they do have red irritated skin.. So for the next two hours we scraped and scrubbed up the wax as best we could. I was so worried that the tile would stain but it didn't. The counter top looks okay too. The only thing that is ruined are the clothes. KIDS!!

The baby shower was a huge success! Thank you family for helping and giving so much!

New quilt

My Basket quilt start. Its an online group - four month project. One month down. Not sure if I like the background fabric I picked but too late now.

This may be the year to get things done....I've finished a quilt top ( no picture yet ) and today I finished a purple scarf I began a week before Christmas. I knitted this as a flat panel on a loom. It really is a royal purple color not this weird one the camera took. And it is six feet long.

Or Guitar MOM!! Easy was getting boring...and the days are boring so...I now play on Medium difficulty. I tell ya - I NEED a JOB.

Alissa and Becky's pregnancies are now in the last trimester. Becky had nice baby shower in Washington while she and Isaac were there for Christmas. Alissa has a baby shower on the 20th of February at my house....I think it was set for 1 PM.
Piper played at the house for awhile on Monday. She loved the cat. The dogs...not so much. Paislee is so tiny. She looks just like a little person.
Michael tried to donate blood today at school. But the nurse busted the needle off in his arm. So they had to quickly get it out. Then they wouldn't let him get poked in the other arm because he is in high school. He was bummed. He went down to donate with four other students in his group. Only one actually gave blood. Steven couldn't because he was the kid who had been nearly killed with the sword incident a year ago. Derek's vein blew out. Michael said literally blew blood all over the front of his shirt. The nurse had the B/P cuff on too tight they suppose. ??

I'm kinda waiting for spring to come so I can get outside and start some yardwork. ANCY - yes.
